The Basic of English for Maritime

This book was designed for Senior High School students majoring on Maritime based on English for specific purpose. It was specially designed for students to practice and work on their English proficiency. Addressing the requirement of Standard Maritime Communication Phrase (SMCP) from IMO, this book is the Supplementary to English coursebooks used in the school. Not only for students, it was also designed for the teacher as a reference in teaching English for the maritime program.

This book provides students with various activities for the classroom or self-study use that can be done in individual or groups. The carefully graded activities are crafted to make the students understand about the use of SMCP on board. This book also presents various activities with use ICT as media in learning.

In every chapter, this book has presented materials about Standard Maritime Communication Phrase as the main purpose of the course. It is intent on improving students’ knowledge about English Maritime. This book also offers practical techniques in learning English especially in vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading, writing, and conversation. It also trains the students to speak up in front of the class confidently.
